Pantone’s 2024 Colour of the Year

| Yearbooks

Colour us excited…the Pantone 2024 Colour of the Year is PEACH FUZZ!

Each year, the experts at the Pantone Color Institute ask themselves, “if we could visualize the year ahead, what color would it be?” They comb through high-fashion runways, interior design trends, pop-culture moments and human psychology to make their pick.

According to their research, the colour that will come to define 2024 is “Peach Fuzz”, a colour they say is a light and fruity tone that conjures peace and serenity. “We’re going through a lot of turmoil in our lives, and we have a need for a colour that’s nurturing,” Pantone colour specialist and Executive Director Leatrice Eisman told CNN. “It’s a warm and cozy shade, and it’s very tactile. We feel that at a time like this, tactility is really important…to touch other people and gather them into our homes.” She goes on to say, “We think of peach as being a significantly nostalgic colour. More frequently a woman’s colour. And yet it has been adapted and gathered into men’s clothing and surroundings. I think that speaks to the modernity of the shade.” (For visual evidence of the growing male appreciation for peach, look no further than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s peach coloured Dolce & Gabbana satin tuxedo jacket).

Considering adding Peach Fuzz to your yearbook? Good call…it adds a sense of organic brightness! Pair it with a rich navy for a classic look, or go bold with a peach – orange combination. Combining peach and aqua creates a dazzling and serene feel, while a pairing of peach and purple creates a bright punch.
